Introducing Meowmates & More, your friendly neighborhood pet-sitting duo founded by the dynamic husband and wife team, Jo & Stephen, right here in Edmonton, Alberta. Their journey began with a furry dilemma when they struggled to find reliable pet sitters for their fur babies before heading off on a trip with their friends, who were facing a similar "fur-tastrophe"! It was during this time that Jo & Stephen discovered the abundance of dog-loving pet sitters in town—which is paws-itively awesome, and wanted to provide the same for cats and smaller animals!

 

Our story took a heartwarming turn in June of 2018 when Jo underwent open-heart surgery. Stephen noticed that during her recovery, she needed some extra company at home while he was at work. So, he surprised her with a visit to the nearest pet adoption center. That's where Jo met Blackbeard, our chunky fur-boy, and it was love at first sight—Jo became Blackbeard's hooman mom and he in turn was a true lifesaver during her recovery.

Not long after, another member joined our family. One October afternoon in 2018, Midnight, our regal little princess diva, mysteriously appeared on our back porch. Skinny and all-black with the roundest green eyes, she captured Jo's heart instantly, earning her the name Midnight. Despite Blackbeard's initial hesitations, Midnight found her place in our home, and now they cuddle and groom each other like the best of friends.

Stephen, with his role in a dairy company, and Jo, working in one of downtown Edmonton's premium brand hotels, always long for more time with Blackbeard and Midnight. The love and warmth they give to Stephen and Jo upon returning home inspired Jo to start our in-home pet-sitting service. Our goal is to provide fellow cat guardians (and owners of small furry or feathered companions) the peace of mind they deserve when they're away, knowing that their fur babies are receiving the love and attention they crave.
